Recently, the 15th China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Conference, hosted by the China Association for the Promotion of Industry-University-Research Cooperation, was held in Beijing. Dalian Dongfang Yipeng won the 2023 "Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award", marking another significant achievement in the coordinated development of industry, academia, and research in the region.

Dalian Dongfang Yipeng Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is a large-scale pressure vessel manufacturing enterprise that integrates scientific research, design, manufacturing, and installation. The company mainly produces hydrogenation reactors, gasifiers, threaded ring locking heat exchangers, cyclone separators, diaphragm-sealed high-pressure heat exchangers, large vertical heat exchangers, reforming furnaces, high-pressure separators, and high-temperature high-pressure heat exchangers. It is a large manufacturing enterprise specializing in pressure vessels in China and also serves as a production base for high-temperature and high-pressure pressure vessels, as well as a demonstration base for industry-university-research cooperation innovation in China.

For many years, Lushunkou District has adhered to the innovation-driven development strategy, continuously liberating and developing new productive forces, firmly grasping the main line of coordinated development of industry, academia, and research, and aiming at three major goals: promoting industrial upgrading, gathering innovation elements, and advancing the transformation of achievements. This has led to a high-quality development path that promotes industrial upgrading and technological innovation through the collaboration of industry, academia, and research, accumulating a solid foundation for high-quality economic and social development in the district.

——Promoting industrial upgrading through industry-university-research collaboration. For many years, Lushunkou District has focused on promoting industrial transformation and upgrading and enterprise innovation development, creating a modern industrial system characterized by "high-end", "intelligent", and "green". It actively guides enterprises to cooperate with universities, focusing on core technologies to carry out "challenge and lead" technological breakthroughs. Among the 8 "challenge and lead" projects in the city in 2023, Lushunkou District occupies 3 seats, ranking first in the city. The "challenge and lead" model of industry-university-research cooperation has effectively promoted the high-end, intelligent, and green transformation of the entire district's industry from production processes to product delivery. As of now, Lushunkou District has 74 various "specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative" enterprises and 157 high-tech enterprises; Yaming, Daqiche, and COSCO have been recognized as national intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration enterprises, making Lushunkou District the only county in the city with national-level intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration enterprises.

——Gathering innovation elements through industry-university-research collaboration. Lushunkou District relies on industry-university-research collaboration to focus on building innovation platforms and actively introducing innovative talents to gather innovation elements for the high-quality development of the district's industry. It actively guides enterprises to cooperate with universities and research institutions. Sinopec Catalyst and Yaming have established high-level talent platforms such as "Academician Workstations" and "Expert Workstations", further solidifying the reserve of high-level talents. In 2023, 14 talent projects from 5 enterprises in the district received support from the "Xinglian Talent" matching innovation talent policy. Yaming and Dalian University of Technology have continuously deepened their cooperation, and based on the "customized training" mechanism, they have jointly built a provincial-level key laboratory. As of now, the district has 67 research and development innovation platforms; in addition, Lushunkou District actively guides enterprises and universities to establish industry-university-research alliances, with a total of 10 substantial industry-university-research alliances at various levels in the district.

——Promoting the transformation of achievements through industry-university-research collaboration. Focusing on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, Lushunkou District continuously guides enterprises to connect with universities, striving to facilitate collaboration between enterprises and universities for the transformation of achievements. This has formed an integrated service mechanism for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, which includes mechanisms for university connections, achievement demand releases, and transformation services, optimizing services comprehensively before, during, and after the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, guiding enterprises and universities to jointly carry out local transformations of scientific and technological achievements through industry-university-research collaboration. In 2023, enterprises in Lushunkou District introduced 36 technological achievements from Dalian's "Ten Schools, One Institute, and One Research Institute", with a total transaction amount of technology contracts reaching 9.32 million yuan.

Pang Sishan transformed and innovated, and Bo Jiqin diligently researched to push for new developments. Technological innovation and achievement transformation are becoming a new strong engine for promoting the development of new productive forces in Lushunkou District and achieving high-quality economic and social development.
